Bug List 2A

Bug List:

1. Dirty toilets and dirty handles in the library bathrooms.

a. Because people do not care as much about public toilets as their own at home and they probably only get cleaned once a day.

2. Traffic lights stay red longer than they would have to, so people waist time waiting:

a. The lights are built in an insufficient way or do not have traffic sensors.

3. My bike was stolen even though I secured it with two massive locks:

a. The locks I put on the bike where not sufficient enough even though they were high-quality locks.

4. My t-shirt is full of sweat after I walk in the sun for not even ten minutes and the sweat stains are visible.

a. The material the t shirt is made from shows the sweat and it is so hot that the body just starts sweating.

5. My phone’s screen got cracked after I dropped it even though it had a case on it.

a. The case was not safe enough.

6. People showing up late to a meeting and I have to wait for them:

a. This is due to people not being able to manage their time correctly.

7. Can not sleep because the neighbors are so loud:

a. This is due to the thin walls between us.

8. My phone distracts me when I study:

a. I am addicted to my phone (which really bugs me!)

9. It bugs me when I am waiting in the rain waiting for my bus to show up but its late:

a. This problem is most likely to exist due to traffic.

10. The full garbage bag broke and all the trash fell on the floor:

a. This happened due to bad quality garbage bags.

11. My eyes hurt when I stare at screens for too long:

a. This problem exists because our eyes are not made to look at artificial light for too long.

12. It bugs me that when I do not want to take a backpack with me, but I do want to take my water bottle with me that I must hold it in my hand:

a. Because I do not know about a convenient other way (besides a backpack) to carry around a water bottle.

13. It bugs me that everything comes wrapped in plastic or in plastic containers:

a. The bug exists because plastic is still the cheapest option of sealing food and other products.

14. My plane was delayed, and I had to wait for 3 hours. I’m then bored.

a. This bug exists because there are almost no activities to do at an airport terminal.

15. I can not find the TV remote.

a. This problem exists because there is no way to track your remote.

16. It bugs me that when I have people at my house, and they ask me for my WIFI code. It is especially annoying when I read it to them, and a person does not listen the first time.

a. This problem exists because the WIFI cannot detect who is allowed into the WIFI and who not.

17. I forget where I parked my car in a huge parking lot:

a. This problem exists because I cannot track my car and the parking lots are super confusing.

18. Buying clothes online and then they do not fit.

a. This problem exists because there is no way yet to try on clothing online.

19. Having a hangover after a long night out.

a. This problem exists because of drinking too much alcohol and being dehydrated.

20. Getting calls from unknown numbers:

a. Because people want to scam and sell. And there are no regulations on cold calling random people.

For the first 8-10 bugs, it was easy to come up with them but to come up with every further one I really had to think back at situations that really annoyed me or upset me or just bugged me. I also tried to come up with bugs during my day to day activities which really helped.

  1. Hello Steven,
After reading your “bug” list, I can certainly pick out a few “bugs” that you identified that I can relate to and have experienced. The bus coming late is an irritating “bug” and that is only made worse on days that it rains. Sometimes the RTS Rider App lags and does not accurately project an arrival time for the bus. This can cause people to wait a long time for the bus or cause them to miss the bus entirely. Finding where I have parked my car is another tough one, especially in areas with large parking such as the airport. It would be much easier if there was a way to track where you parked your car so that you do not have to waste time looking for it. For me, I had a challenge in coming up with all 20 “bugs”, but just like yourself, it started off easy and then gradually became more challenging.

  2. Hello Steven!

I found your bug list to be very well-thought out, and definitely could relate to some of the issues you listed. The issue with thin walls is definitely something I can relate to, as my own neighbors tend to be noisy and also stay up late every night, much to my and my roommate's chagrin. I love your perspective on these issues as well, but feel that it could perhaps be improved by considering why these issues happen from the perspective of the "bugger", rather than only considering them from your point of view in order to better help rationalize them. I also felt that it was super easy to come up with the first 8-10 bugs, but found it challenging later on to consider them, which took extra time to come up with and complete the list.

    Thanks for sharing!
