Summary: Johnson & Johnson was fined with $572 Million; this does not do too much harm to a company of that size.

We are not able to count on regulators and drug companies to protect us.

Suggestions to not only focus on lawsuits but also, cure the people and addictions.

The Problem: Too much focus on lawsuits against the companies but not enough effort on changing people’s habits and working against addictions.

Drug addicts and their family members.

Title: Where do the happiest Americans live? Definitely not in Florida, new survey says.

Summary: Florida has an extremely high unemployment and divorce rate.

 The a number of people that want to volunteer for things cis minimal, which sparks less joy in people. Also, Florida is one of the least safe states in the country.

 All of these factors make Florida a state in which people are more unhappy than in others (besides West Virginia).

The Problem: Unemployment, divorce, separation, crime, materialism, egoism

Title: When talking to your doctor about care, cost should be part of the conversation – Opinion

Summary: When talking about medical treatments with doctors (in cancerous cases) everyone wants the best treatment for their loved ones. These are usually extremely expensive, and the costliest ones are usually not covered by insurance.

The article states that less than half of oncologists have a conversation about how much the treatment is going to cost.

The problem: people are having treatments without knowing how much it will cost and are in debt after.

Who: People that do not ask about the medical costs and cannot afford it.

Summary: Beaches is south Florida closed due to high excrement levels in the water. These water levels can cause illnesses and infections for humans.

The Problem: Too high excrement level in the ocean water, this is a threat to humans. People are not able to go to the beaches for some time.

Summary: 45-year-old Veteran gets arrested after threatening people online. He claims to mass shoot because he states to be a loser that does not get any girls and hates himself. The number of threats like these re on the rise.

The Problem: Fear arises when things like these are posted online and no one should ever feel so bad that they want to do something like this. This is a potential threat to society.

Who: Society at a whole, the shooter himself, the victims, victims family

    Hi Steve,
    I enjoyed how you dug for very compelling articles. However, I wish you had considered a couple of things before writing this post. First, I wish you had given more content from each article. Shorter is usually better, but in this case I think it would have served you better to have written a longer summary of the article and the problem presented. Finally, I wish you had put more emphasis on the problems presented. The problems facing society today deserve a lot more than a five or six word summary.

My cousin created a software program about a year ago. It is very difficult having to build software, coming up with a business plan, creating a budgeting plan, establishing a marketing strategy, and searching for potential investors on your own. The main topics are SEO, Blogging, Social Media and other tools for building your brand.      How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003?
