         1)You read about an entrepreneur:
I read the success story of Orville and Wilbur Wright, the brothers that invented, built, and flew the first aircraft in history. (by David McCullough)

What surprised you the most?
That the two brothers never attended college and still managed the physics and the engineering for the planes.

What about the entrepreneur did you most admire?
What I most admired about the Wright brothers is that they did not care too much about what other people thought of them. They followed their vision and did not let anyone else get into their way.

What about the entrepreneur did you least admire?
That they sold their idea to the French first. I do understand the reasons behind it and I probably would have done it the same way, but this made France the first country to build these planes in mass production.

2) Did the entrepreneur encounter adversity and failure? If so, what did they do about it?
2      What competencies did you notice that the entrepreneur exhibited?
The two brothers encountered failure over and over again. This is a great example of how not giving up will make you succeed at some point. They also got a lot of criticism from people and the media but they never gave up. Outstanding competencies I noticed about the two brothers were that they were extremely goal-oriented and put all their effort into one thing, flying.

3) Identify at least one part of the reading that was confusing to you.
I was a little confused because the book did not mention too much about their mechanic Charles Taylor who was a major part of this success. It also does not talk about their competition because there were multiple people working on the same idea. The book seemed to over glorify the brothers a little too much because it left out other important information like this.

4)If you were able to ask two questions to the entrepreneur, what would you ask? Why?
·         How much did it help you working with your brother instead of a non-family member?  I have a brother myself. I am wondering if the benefits out way the negatives with working together with a family member.
·         Where you always sure that you will succeed? And how sure would you say you have to be to go through with an idea? I have ideas a lot of the time but I am never sure how sure I have to be of it being a success.

5)For fun: what do you think the entrepreneur's opinion was of hard work? Do you share that opinion?

I am guessing that their opinion of hard work was putting everything into your project. Your time, money and the brainpower one has, while at the same time not caring what others think of you. I do agree on a lot with perceptive and especially with the fact that they learned from their failures and looking back and see why they failed.

  1. Good afternoon Steven,
You did a great job summarizing the development and life stories of Orville and Wilbur Wright. It was very brief and concise, as I was able to understand the fundamental idea of their lives and how they became the first people to invent, build, and fly the first aircraft. It's fascinating how both brothers never went to college and were still able to understand the physics and engineering behind planes. It is evident in your explanations and descriptions that both brothers demonstrated hard work and dedication which eventually led to their success. Great job with the overview of their life stories!

  2. Hello Steven,
I thought it was very interesting to see that the Wright brothers did not go to college, however were still able to become successful in an industry that required extensive knowledge of physics and mathematics. This reflects a strong sense of ambition and determination to become successful with something that they were clearly passionate about. Asking about the working relationship between family members would actually be very interesting as it can be easy to see how that becomes stressful at times or could place tension on their relationship. Successful entrepreneurs accurately reflect the value of hard work, as many of them wouldn't be in the position they are in without working hard. As an entrepreneur, you are going to face adversity and I think hard work is a big part in overcoming adversity and becoming successful.
